    Hi,
    in one cell there are declared 2 SDCCHs or 16 subchannels. Sometimes happens that available subchannels are 15. Why and what causes that?

    Because in 1 SDCCH ,we define SDCCB,so the configuration stands 7SDCCH subchannels+ 1SDCCB+8SDCCH subchannels

    Bijoy,

    CBCH can be used both in combined as well as non-combined mode.If you are using
    1.Nokia Sytem,check with the command ZERO:BTS=BTS ID;
    2.Ericsson system,check with the command RLCRP:Cell=cellname,detail;
    3.Huawei System,check in LMT

    OOooops, some inter-vendor vocabulary issues…

    Rex, in Alcatel, the “SDH” is a timeslot configured with 7 SDCCH subchannels + 1 SMS-CB (Cell Braodcast) subchannel. Check the cell timeslot configuration in the RNUSM “Cell Edit”.

    Bijoy, the SDCCB is probably a cell braodcast subchannel, yeah ?

    Rex (again), the cell broadcast is used to broadcast one SMS message to all the MS within one cell. It is usually broadcasting commercial advertisements.

    Cheers,
    Pix

    Thanks Pix,
    I checked and there is no SDH configured in that cell. Is it possible cell broadcast go through ‘usual’ SDC?

    Rex,

    No.

    Going back to your initial question… you were talking about 15 AVAILABLE sdcch subchannels during one hour ?

    It means the SDCCH are not availble during 1/16th of an hour (or approx.). The average over one hour is 15.

    That’s all…
