Hi guys, can someone tell me.? How is the formula for averaging window for rxlevel?

    Saga,

    if a_lev_ho = 4
    avg_rxlev = (rxlev1 + rxlev2 + rxlev3 + rxlev4) / 4

rxlev1 being the last rxlev measurement (from last sacch)
rxlev4 is the measurement from 4 SACCH ago.

    cheers,

    Hi Saga,

As a add-on to Pix calculation:
Do not look theoretically on this. The guys crating the BSC logic do not know what is dBm.
For them the average between -70 and -110dBm is… -90dBm and not the half of -70. Which is -73.
The same is for the quality…

    vanderley : brilliant :))

yet… you would want to do an average based on the mWatts ?
    avg(-70dBm, -90dBm) = (1e-7 milli watts + 0.01e-7 milli watts) / 2 = 0.505e-7 mw = -73dBm.

Would you consider that a … valid average ?

Now… imagine one measure at -70dBm. And 4 consecutive measures at -90dBm.

what is the “mW” average ?

    -72.8dBm

tuning the HO thresholds would be *really* fine tuning.

🙂 I know you gone like it.

As a teacher of mine said long time ago:
In theory and in practice is one thing… but in reality it something else.
