    Hi All

I work as Financial Planning Manager for a large retailer in the UK. I specifically have responsibility for call centres and use erlang for this

However i am now looking at our warehousing and delivery logistics business.

Does anyone know of any erlang or similar tools which can be used in logistics when service lvels are involved

    Cheers

U should consider how many clients you will deal with per busy hour(10,20,100 you should know better ) and what is the medium time of a call (50s, 2 minutes, 5 minutes…I have no idea). After that you give me the blocking probability(2% or 1%) and with erlang B formula you will get the numbers of lines(i.e the PBX capacity)

Or, even better, if you already know the traffic(those mErlangs you mentioned) the only thing that you need is the blocking probability(that should be the service levels i.e for gold service blocking probability to be 0.01%; for silver service to be 1% and not acceptable service to be 5%)
