The Gb or OSS Interface will be carried through IP (actually they are on Frame Relay), consequently we will have more throughput, reliability and security for theses interfaces. which vendor?

Before OSS to other Network Elements connectivity was thru X.25 protocol, so this OSS over IP connection is far better in terms of Throughput, reliability, redundancy(alternate path)

Gb is between the PCU (MFS) and the SGSN, carrying GCH and GSL. This link is traditionally carried thanks to Frame Relay links, and nowadays, it can also be carried thanks to IP links.

OSS is the link for supervision (link to OMCR), it can also be carried by IP link. It usually connects the BSC and PCU to the OMCR.

    Cheers,

    Hi
for Gb-over-ip we need the following
    1) BSC should support Gb-over-IP, we are using huawei bsc6900 in our nw here we use a FG2C card for gb-o-ip.
    2) this card should be connected to a mux, it can use vlan to send the data.
    3) that mux through should be connected to sgsn through transport.
    4) device ip, ethernet ip, nsvlocal and nsvlremote are defined in bsc, and at sgsn end nsvl is again created.
5)now ip rotes are created in bsc.

If transport is ok then connectivity is made with sgsn, thats it.
