Guesthalf rate : one subscriber is coded at a rate of about 6kb/s
full rate, one subscriber is coded at a rate of about 12.2kb/sin half rate, one subscriber will use only half the capacity offered by 1 timeslot.
Physically : the MS in HR mode is sending a burst only 1 out of 2 TDMA frames.

Guestwhat r crition for using half rate & full rate traffic , when we use half rate & full rate traffic.
wat is importance of k far & l far
in H.R. & F.R.14th July 2009 at 16:33 #57915Pix
Guestajay,
usually, it depends on the load of the cell (busy TCH / available TCH). If cell is loadaed, the new incoming call are setup in HR.
that’s vendor dependent, so i can’t give you the parameter names.

Guesthello,
it’s difficult to answer, because you don’t provide any detail ! so here are some questions, to help me help you 🙂
could you please write down which indicators or which measurements are showing “degraded speech quality” ?
what do you mean by HO zone ?
what kind of hopping are you using ?
what is the intersite distance ?
what is the downtilt applied and the antenna height ?
how many TRX/cell ?
in terms of qos stats, do you notice anything ?cheers
