half rate : one subscriber is coded at a rate of about 6kb/s
full rate, one subscriber is coded at a rate of about 12.2kb/s

in half rate, one subscriber will use only half the capacity offered by 1 timeslot.

Physically : the MS in HR mode is sending a burst only 1 out of 2 TDMA frames.

usually, it depends on the load of the cell (busy TCH / available TCH). If cell is loadaed, the new incoming call are setup in HR.

that’s vendor dependent, so i can’t give you the parameter names.

recently i am getting a problem in my rf network , when sites are planned closely i.e., in dense urban area observed a degraded speech quality in handover zone . when i called my vendor in this rgard , he said it happens so in handover zone , but i didn’t experinced this previously . can u kindly advice what to do n expalin what’s the problem?
