    Could somebody explain me why there is a high percent of HO failure from GSM1800 to GSM 900?

    Which vendor are you working with?also are you using common bcch or not?if the failure mostly between the co located 900/1800 cells or not?

    is the parameter of cs:y in the adj. Relation?maybe by increasing the min signal level in adj. You will have ho in better situation between them.i’ll check some documents today and will reply you more exactly*bye bye

    hi, Erick!
    We had the same problem in our network, it was caused by 5TER messaging. it was solved by some SW correction on MSC side, which I don’t remember.

    Found!!

    The solution is to activate ”GSM phase2 error handling” mechanism on all MSCs by setting the parameter phase2 from 0 to 1 at all MSCs for all BSCs.
    Please inform me if it was helpful 🙂

    Hi,Anastassia!
    I’ll check it with our MSC engineers.I’ll inform you:)

    Ok, is there everything OK with active BA lists?
    Do you use HCS layers? What are the HCS parameters?

    We have one HCS band, our network is quite small, with one BSC ans Msc, and with 3 layers. We use layer 3 for GSM 1800, layer 7 for GSM 900, and often layer 8 for umbrella sites. Layerthr is often set on 85.

    Hi Erick,
    You said you only have one BSC, was the high percentage of HO failure common in all cells in the BSC or on some Cells only?

    Hi, AYE. No, the problem is only with HO form GSM1800 to GSM900 cells.

    Hi Erick,
    If you have a multiband network check the ff parameter settings:

    BSC DATA PARAMETER:
    MODE = MULTI
    GSYSTYPE = MIXED

    CELL DATA PARAMETER
    CSYSTYPE = frequency band used by BCCH(GSM900 or GSM1800).

    regards,
    aye
