Hi,
Is this correct that pcm failure alarm in nokia is not related to radio link and it reflects mostly a physical problem in pcm line?
In a chain of BTS sites with one as a hub site, sometimes the hub site has pcm failure and OM is BL but we see the dependent sites are normal and working!!!!!!
How is it possible?!!
another question plz tell :
what is the difference between ZAHO and ZYEF commands?
thank you.
dear friend
I suggest you to have a look at the formula of pcm failure in your monitoring system.if you’re using netact check it in the formula document.you will see different counters which play a part in pcm fail and when they trigger.not all the time the issue is pcm itself as my personal experience.
Good luck
Well as per my knowledge PCM alarm is concerned with the physical links as the Radio Interface uses LAP-D protocol.
I am not familiar with ZYEF command but ZAHO is used to display all the current alarms on the BSC.
I would appreciate if anyone could share some material on Nokia NetAct CM tool.
thank you

-ZAHO command is displaying active alarms. While ZYEF, it is an interrogating command status:
example:
For ET card.
ZYEF:ET,et#; – This will display status of ET if its PCM failure or OK.
While ZAHO:ET,xx; – This will display current active alarm.

– what BTS model are using? Is their transmission in the chain are the same?
