During handovers from cell to cell, speech quality (SQI) normally degraded.
What is the theory behind this SQI degradation during HO?
Any one please describe this?

Hi,

You can imagine that SQI algorithm works as a buffer.
To works correct it needs the last some samples.
When you perform HO you need some time to get this samples ( when you are already allocated in the target cell ) but the system acts as they are missimg due to radio failure… so we get degradation…

Plus the missing data in the sourse cell due to FACCH stealing
