    Hi All,

Recently I got one issue in the network that connections with Nokia3315 Mobiles are not getting latched to the network. The mobiles are not showing any network bars and whenever customer tries for MOC, it generates error – “NO NETWORK COVERAGE”…

    Network Type – 2G GERAN
    Band – 1800
    System – NSN

    Thanks a lot !!!

Why would GERAN be relevant to a standard GSM 900/1800MHz?

ParaHO, what are you talking about ?

GSM Edge Radio Access Network.. That’s the name of a 2G network.

IK, a mobile doesn’t get latched because it cannot perform a location update, it means (as far as i know):
1/ the network rejects the IMSI
2/ or, the IMSI forbids the network
3/ or, the coverage is indeed too low (C1 is negative)
4/ the mobile cannot hear the band 1800 MHz. Is your mobile biband ?

I can help you only on point number 3:
Set your radio parameters at the following values:
    RXLev Access Min = -110dBm
MS TxPower Max CCH = 33dBm

    regards,

You made me smile PIX. Yes I know what GERAN means?

I should have said Why would GERAN be relevant to a standard HANDSET GSM 900/1800MHz?

I knew I would make you smile :))

IK is just thoroughly describing its network type. If we, geeks, can’t even use special weird acronyms when we talk, what’s the point ?

    🙂
