GuestDears
Any one know what is the acceptable sample per neighbor for making good handover per cell.18th February 2009 at 17:45 #55872Pix
GuestWhat do you mean by “sample” ?
18th February 2009 at 18:14 #55873Kamal
GuestThere is no parameter like sample related to handover….

GuestDear
this is not parameter but as you know when MS make measurement on SACCH multiframe ( 100 TDMA frame) on the basis for this measurement left say 20 neighbor in BA list each neighbor take 5 sample is this enough for proper measurement this is that my meaning19th February 2009 at 12:18 #55875Pix
Guestbob,
4 samples for emergency HO (or more)
8 samples for better conditions HO (or more)19th February 2009 at 14:01 #55876Bob

GuestSo,if the no. of neighbors is more then 12,then signal strentgh sample will be less then 8 for each neighbor?
Actually what is the drawback of adding more neighbors?(lets say for example greater then 12)
Not adequate sample for each neighbor and probability to not get the measurment for the strongest(best)cell?…or what should be the problem?…
Pix(or any 1),can you please explain?24th February 2009 at 22:23 #55878Pix
GuestThe number of samples mean the BSC will average 8 consecutive samples and use this average in the HO algorithms.
If there are too many neighbor cells, the MS might take too much time before detecting a new best neighbor. But it can still measure the 6 current neighbor pretty well and pretty fast. One fresh measurement sample per neighbor every 480ms. That’s the deal 🙂
Mr. Pan seems to know the inner mechanism of a MS rather well, perhaps he can add details ?

GuestHi friends i am new in the forum i want to know that in measurement rport ms sends only neighbours which are defined in BSC or sends just the best five.

GuestHi Vinyek,
MS sends 6 best neighbours from all those neighbours declared in BSC. So, even there is a neighbour with good signal and it is not declared as a neighbour, MS doesn’t send it.

GuestYes ,Rek
As TEMS tool , you can see the MR (Measurement Report) will send to BTS only 6 strongest Neighbors which all of them can be detected BSIC . Let’s say MS will send 6 strongest cleared NB to BTS then the BTS will forward those NB to BSC for considering HO -
