    Also, I often found some cells face high SDCCH Drop everyday (~ 100 time/hr.) and it occurs only around 1 to 6 am. then after this period it falls down to normal ( 2-5 times /hr.)

    At least NSN/Nokia BSS has algorithm which detects, if RACH is real one or phantom one, and if I remember correctly, there’s one counter in statistics, where you see how many phantom RACH msg has been received within the measurement period.

    Dear,
    Phantom, dummy or Ghost, are the same;
    RX lev. of MS higher than cell acceptability (RACH MINI. access lev.) or may be higher than its TA acceptability (MAX TA) because of:
    – Overshooting: need physical parameter adjustment.
    – BSS parameters: need BSS parameter adjustment(TA MR Control parameter, Access level control parameters, RACH Access control parameter …).
    – Interference.
    and the main effect will be on SDCCH performance.

    regards
