I am designing an IAD and I need to choose between Trapezoidal
ringing or Sinusoidal ringing. I need to know the answers to
following questions to help me in deciding. I appreciate the answers,
to then and any other inputs.

    1. Which (T or S) is more commonly used in PBX/IAD FXS ports?
    2. Do the POTS handsets work with both T and S ringing?
    3. Do FXO interfaces on PBXs work with both T and S ringing?

    thanks.

Hope this could be a help,
In my experience I have seen sinusoidal ringing (this is what local exchanges provides), it has a purpose: Class services allow you to have distinctive ringing for example, therefore changing the cadence and frecuency you can do it, the S ringing is the solution. Not sure but my belive is the T rininging could no work in the way customers use to hear it.
    Hop it helps you
