Improve traffic in cells GSM1800

    Hi
    I put news cells GSM1800 in my metwork but they didn’t take enough traffic.
    My objective is to improve traffic in cell 1800 more than existing cell 900. The RBS are co site. and Ericsson RBS
    All help will be appreciate

    May I know u’r settings for LAYER,LAYERTHR,CRO,HOCLSACC on cells in both bands?

    Hi
    Before i had same parameter for both band
    Layer 2 for both, Layerthr:95 for both, CRO:0 for both, HOCLSACC:ON for both
    but yesterday i changed only layer:
    For 900 cells: layer 2 and 1800 cells: layer 1

    Dear Allongo,

    I suggest you try the following to push more traffic to the OL layer (GSM1800)and observe the statistics:

    CRO=10 and LAYERTHR=85.

    To offload 900 Band, another way could be
    1. to set CRO =0
    2. to set ACCMIN for 1800 equal to LAYERTHR for 1800MHz (ACCMIN for 900Mhz could be -104dBm).

    With this,
    Idle MS will camp on 900Mhz and during call setup Locating will transfer the calls to 1800Mhz (for those who satisfy LAYERTHR).

    This way,
    1800Mhz will become congested earlier than 900Mhz. During congestion 1800Mhz will transfer new calls to 900MHz through Assignment to other cell.
