    Hi,

    NCC= Network Colour Code

    BSIC= NCC + BCC

    In a Given PLMN…

    We can use BCC from 0-7
    But do the same implies for NCC also?

    I mean do we have only one value for NCC in the whole PLMN?

    What happens if the PLMN earlier using one value for NCC say NCC=1

    But at a later stage another value, say NCC=6 is also introduced in the network, together with NCC=1.

    Is there any equation between SIM, NCC, BSIC and Handover??

    Regards

    Kind of dropped, yeah…

    Each cell can broadcast a list of permitted NCC to the MS. I’m not sure exactly how it works (or what it does to the MS), but you can check 3GPP 04.18 (NCC Permitted, or PLMN Permitted)

    I think it’s very “soft”, it might do something like this:
    If the cell broadcast “all” NCC permitted, the MS will decode BCCH/BSIC that contains any NCC.

    thanks for reference Pix….

    Let me do some digging in the source you mentioned…….

    If i found any equation between

    SIM…NCC….BSIC…HANDOVER

    I will share my experience.

    contd…….
