    Hi All,

Can anybody let me know how many maximum cells the MSC can indicate in “Cell Identifer List” element in the Paging message.

    [Refer TS 48.008, section 3.2.2.27]

I understand that information about a cell would be max. 7 octets in “Cell Identifer List”, but I dont know the maximum number of cells contained in the list.

I need this information for decoding the Paging message using a decoder tool.

    Regards,
    Sachin

    Dear, Sachin!
There is 8-bit Length indicator in the Cell Identifer List IE. Hence, the length of the cell id’s field and cell discriminator field no more than 2^8 byte. You may count yourself the number of the cell depending on cell discriminator – CGI (7 byte), LAC+CellID(4byte), CellId only (2byte).
    With regards, Pan/

Can anybody let me know about a CIC(circuit identifier code) calculation algoratithm for ASSIGNMENT COMPLETE Message of BSSMAP layer?
As per my understanding,If BSS allocates CIC,BSSMAP needs to send it in ASSIGNMENT COMPLETE Message.
