In GSM system

Does the network send location update request to MS

that means

in general in GSM network MS is responsible to update jis location to the network ,
and the network has to answer (ACK or reject )

but in our case , in Geo probe i found messge location update fro network to the MS

i need to know when the network request from MS to update his location and , does the MS reply with (ACK or reject message),,,,,,,!!!

what is the exact name of the message ? “Location Update Request” ?? This message can be sent only from MS to Network.

Please check the message name, because maybe you’re mistaking with something else ?

Hi,

I think it is a Location update accept or reject message that network is sending to MS. Location update request can only be sent from MS to network.
