    Hi,

When you are having a good Rxlevel in a cell( -55 dBm or so) for the BCCH carrier.

    AND

    when you initiates a call
(naturally the first phase will use the BCCh frequency only until SDCCH gets assigned to the MS)…the Rxlevel are still same as that was in the IDLE case..

    BUT

the moment TCH is assigned and it is hopping now…

the Rxlevel jumps to the ranges between -80dBm to -90dBm????

    Why????

This is not binded to a single cell rather it is with all the cells ….

Thus without even bothering to test the hardware i am declaring that the hardware for the hopping TRX’s is OK.

And if a feeder/jumper/antenna can work fine with BCCH then why not with other..ARFCNS!!!

    Finally…

Give me advice to pick the parameter at cell level which is the root.

    Regards

it’s a very common problem.. it has nothing to do with parameters.

It’s just that the TRX that carry the TCH on which you’re going is being transmitted on a different sector. This is a cross-cable situation.
I assume you’re using one X-polar antenna per sector? There are two feeders per X-pol antenna. So if you send the BCCH feeder on the correct sector, but the TCH feeder on another sector, you’re going to experience exactly what you’re seeing now in your drivetest.

That, or the “TCH” TRX is faulty (low TX power). Check the path balance of this TRX to rule that out.

    Hi,
Are you already verify your cabling.

are you watching RXlev sub or full?

do you use downlink power control?
