    Hi everybody!

We have a problem with sudden active calls drop at dual band (900/1800) cells in the Siemens radio network. Please advice what could be a reason?
The problem does not exist in single band cells.

    Thanks!

    hi HB

check whether u had defined intra cell handover or not, coz while moving from 900 to 1800 and viceversa handover takes place, and if this HO is missing call drops.

    Thanks Sam,

The intra cell handover is defined already and seems to work well in most cases. We will additionaly check some HO parameters.

    hello HB,

It would be interesting to tell us what is the situation just before thhe call drop. Indeed, your description is really vague 🙂

which serving cell ? which band ?
which UL & DL rxlev, rxqual, TA ?
what about estimated traffic load in each band ? congestion ?
what is the cause of call drops, in your QoS statistics ?
what about handovers before call drops ?

    regards,

    Hello HB,

pix is right that cause of drop can be any, you had not given the exact scenario. kindly provide the full details and if possible give the BSC dump data of that particular site.

if you are using HCS and multiband cell, it is possible to increase the probability of call drop in some lower intereference areas, the HCS and multiband cells normally causes to increase the call drop, even in low interference areas.
