Hi,
With regard to intra cell HO….
If the cause of triggering is UL or DL RxQual then, do we have the choice to enable/disable the same? I mean the intracell handovers due to RXQUAL are by default or by choice?
Regards.
29th August 2008 at 09:59 #53731pixGuestintracell ho can be disabled.
the main causes for intracell ho are called “interference”, when RXLEV is good but RXQUAL is bad.
there is a type of handover, an intercell HO, called “bad quality”, which is based on conditions RXLEV is bad AND RXQUAL is bad.I’m not sure i understand your question though, but maybe that helped ?
29th August 2008 at 10:08 #53732MKTGuestThanks for reply,
my vendor is Nokia
In the handover control parameters of a particular cell we have,
Intra HO due to UL interference = No
Intra HO due to DL interference = No
I wonders if the intra cell handover due to interference is not allowed then
how it is happening due to Rxqual(which is nothing but the child of interference). That is why I asked whether Intracell HO due RXQUAL are by default or can be by choice.

29th August 2008 at 11:49 #53733RHGuestHi MKT,
For HO,RxQual has the more priority then Interference.
Network will set the HO cause as follow:
rx_qual HO allowed? -> check rx_qual thresold ->interference_HO allowed?(if yes, then it will check for intracell_ho threshold,if rxlev greater then the threshold then ıntracell ho will occur.otherwise not and HO cause should be rx_qual)..(if interference_HO not allowed..then set the cause Rx_qual and intercell HO will occur). So its amazing that ur interference ho are disabled but they are occurring.
29th August 2008 at 15:31 #53734pixGuesti think MKT is confusing interference HO and quality HO. They are different species of HO.
interf HO based on high rxlev and poor rxqual
qual HO based on low rxlev and poor rxqualyou see, they are working together, additionally.
30th August 2008 at 04:39 #53735MKTGuestHi, Pix and RH
I am not saying that Intracell Handovers are occurring in the cell even though the same feature is disabled.
what i am saying is that in my cell i have intracell handovers due to interfernce are disabled, yet the intracell handovers due to Rxqual are occurring.I am of the impression that interference leads to BER and hence bad Rxqual. Then how it is possible anything which depends on interference is enabled or working while the root itself(interference ) is disabled.
Any way here is the HO parameters of the cell I am referring .
It may be the case i am not decoding the execution printout properly.
Regards

means the intracell HO disabled? or only the intracell ho due to interference is disabled?
In Our system,we have 2 separaet parameter..1)intracell_ho_allowed 2)interference_ho_allowed
Ok. if for ur system if it means that intracell ho due to only interference is disabled but intracell_ho allowed…then i guess if the serving cell have rxlevel greater then -85 dBm (as set in ur threshold)then intracell HO due to quality can happen.14th March 2012 at 13:03 #53737Mgcini Dube-JohnstoneGuestwhat do the lines below refer to:
