    Could you please tell me a practical example within telecommunications where each of these would be used?

    FDM = Frequency Division Multiplexing
    Satellite, Cable, DSL

    TDM = Time Division Multiplexing

    Good old PSTN digital circuits

    WDM = Wave Division Multiplexing

    Optical networks
