    Can any body tell me how many bits are there in a byte i.e. 8 or 8.25

    Its’ not tricky. But I heard IBM uses it.

    1Mbps is a rate of information transfer. Gigabytes is a measure of the volume of information transfered.

    e.g.
    1Mbps/8bits=125,000bytes per second
