can we have same lac for two BSC’s?
Vanderley Guest
Yes you can. Just be sure that the CGI are unique.
HUNI Guest
Thanks Vanderley
what is CGI stands for?

Be aware of e.g. increased paging load if Location Area becomes too big. It can lead to some unexpected behivour in your BSCs; depending on how well the overload protection has been implemented in BSC software.

@HUNI
yes we can have same LAC for two BSCs but these two BSCs should be in the same MSC.
If the two BSCs having same LAC are in two different MSCs then it will lead to the problems.

CGI – cell globl
= MCC+MNC+LAC+CELL_ID
Vandrley Guest
CGI – cell global identity
= MCC+MNC+LAC+CELL_ID

yes you can, but also you should consider the number of TRX otherwise you will face lack of paging resource.
