    Hi every body
I need to know the way of working of adjustable electrical tilt antenna

    thanks

the signal is fed with different phases and different weights to each dipole in the antenna.

But what is the mecanism implemented inside the antenna ?

it totally depends on the antenna vendor. the basic idea is to implement independent phase shifters along the waveguides.
sometimes, it will simply be a plastic device that will slow down the waves depending on how deep it goes into the wave guide. Oppositely, the phase shift will be removed if the device is put further away from the wave guide.

Controlling those phase shifters is done thanks to a screw at the bottom of the antenna. (the electrical tilt is mechanically adjusted :)) )

    dear
what is the meaning of waveguide

it’s a kind of cable that can conduct electromagnetic waves, instead of electrical current.

jumper and feeders are waveguides, you know… they do not carry electric current, but EM waves 🙂

    hi pix

we have huawei BTS 3012 which you can make electrical tilt by using software. what do think about this method usefull or we better use the manual way that by adjusting from antenna .

    johan,

remote electrical tilt (RET) ? it is a remote mechanical adjustment of the electrical tilt… it is of course better than doing it manually, because you don’t have to go on site !!

but otherwise, in terms of precision, the RET is very precise, possibly more than manual 🙂
