tch mean holding time: average duration during which a TCH timeslot is allocated to a certain call.

for instance TCH MHT = 20s, it means that your subscribers get a TCH for 20 seconds. Then they probably handover to another cell, so the TCH in this cell is deallocated.

This is NOT the average call duration. You should look at the MHT along with the “HO per Call” indicator.
    As far as i remember:
    call duration = TCH MHT * (HOperCall + 1)

what’s the difference when we say

    1- Call success rate > = < % 2- Call set up > = < %

call success rate = call setup sucess rate * (100% – call drop rate)

    Dear Pix

Some vendor define Call success (100-Call drop rate(%)).

    could you explain yhese formula

call success rate = call setup sucess rate * (100% – call drop rate)

as you said, it is vendor dependent.
the formula is quite simple… call success is representing the success of a call, from call setup to the call release.

    it’s a very global indicator.

the (100% – call drop rate) is useless, because it’s just another way of displaying the call drop ratE. It shows exactly the same info, there is no value-added to such indicator.

number of TCH established for incoming HO / number of TCH established by “normal” call setup

    nitin,

= duration of a call, in average.

how can we define cell utilization??????

    Hello

Cell utilization -Traffic (erl)*100/Traffic design (ERL table (B))

    Eg

    CELl utilization Per CELL

Cell _1 with real traffic =10 erl
and TCH=12 channel and GOS =2%

so we have to review erlang table B , we will find the design traffic at TCH = 12 and GOS =2% =6.615

Design traffic =6.615 so cell utilization = 10*100/6.615

    i hope it is clear
