I need to know how many Erlang 1 TRX can carry at full rate. I am not a telecom enginner and my understanding is limited. But I believe the Erlang carried by a TRX can increase if one applies half rate in an percentage. I need to know what the Erlang a TRX can carry at full rate.

One cell can be configured with 1 to 12 TRX (usually).
The more TRX you put in one cell, the higher the capacity (it’s non-linear)
With only one TRX, you can have max 7 channels for voice.
Go there :
Select BHT as “unknown”
Blocking = 0.02(= 2%)
Lines = 7 (7 channels)
click on Calc.
capacity of 1 TRX = 2.9erlangs (full rate)
In halfrate, you can have 14 channels –> 8.2 erlangs.
The capacity in erlangs depends on the acceptable blocking rate. By default 2%. Most operators today are choosing lower blocking (1% or 0.05%).

Hello everyone. Please I need to know how to calculate the maximum number of TRX that can be configured in a cell. Given that the TCH will use 1*3 frequency reside for arfcn of 45 -80, while BCCH use 81-94. Bandwidth is 10Mhz.

with 35 ARFCN for the TRX TCH, and a RF Load of 30% on a 1×3 pattern.
–> 35/3 = 11.6666 arfcn MA-LIST per sector (let’s round up to 11, so you can keep “joker frfequencies”.)
30%*11 = 3.3 TRX ‘TCH’ / SECTOR
so basically, you can easily have 1+3 TRX per sector (1 bcch + 3 tch), with good radio quality.
By pushing radio quality and taking into account a traffic < 100% capacity at busy hour, I think you are safe to push the capacity to 1+4 TRX per Sector. That's a radio load of 36% which is still very acceptable. Maybe you'll see some qos degradation @ the busy hour. In one E1 there is 16 trx hop u know that
