hi, if Cell A has two neighbors ; Cell F and Cell G.
And Cell F, G have same BCCH say 5; can this cause the handover failures from Cell A to Cell F or G, BSIC of these cells are different though.

Yes it may cause Ho failure, if those two cells have close C/I, you must have at least 9dB – > 12dB differences in C/I in order to prevent HO failure.

Let’s assume that the C/I is OK.

you will have a problem when using the same BCCH…

When a MS performs a HO from A to F, what does it mean ? The MS will have to send a HO ACCESS (burst message) towards F.
If the MS is sent on the BCCH of F, the HO ACCESS is sent on frequency BCCH(F).

This burst message will be understand as a RACH ACCESS by the cell G ! It might lead to SDCCH congestion on cell G… Not very critical, but yet, worth noticing.

    Ok, that’s about it…
