    Hi Everybody
    While commissioning a Rollout Site where NOKIA equipment is used, I have faced a problem about EDAP. Its new for me. The scenario was :
    TCH = 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12
    TRX Sig = 25, 26, 27
    EDAP = 13,14,15,16,17,18
    In every EDAP TS there appears (1, 3, 6).
    Can anybody please help me?
    Whats EDAP?
    and whats its purpose?
    and why 1,3,6 appears there?

    EDAP is the zone EDGE.

    in hubmanager you can define this zone.
    In this zone, you choose TRX which do EDGE, example: 1 3 5. Of course, the same defined in BSC.

    You lost 1 TRX/sector with EDGE.

    EDAP is Abis resource(of Nx64Kbps timeslots) for transmission of packed data. It is being used not only for EDGE, but for CS3/CS4 GPRS traffic also.

    EDAP should be attached attached per BCF, so it means, that one EDAP is necessary for one BCF, if you have at least 1 TRX with CS3/CS4 or EDGE.

    Size of EDAP depends of packet traffic of all BTSs under BCF.

    I mean how we create its logical numbering, what does it stand for, whtas its funtcion….

    Hi Rizwan
    EDAP means Edge Dynamic ABIS Pool.
    In Traffic manager we can define the TRXs in EDAP which will be used for EDGE.You can define the no.of Time slots required for EDAP.For eq. if your site is running with 2/2/2 conf. then you can put all TRXs also in that Pool if all are TSGB and same can be defined in BSC.It depends upon you which TRX you want for EDAP.

    The BTS compared the value of ROSS between the MAIN and the DIV. If the value is higher than 5, an alarm appears.

    HI Piyush ji,

    AS I KNOW EDAP is the block of TSLs transmitting over the Abis. speed of TSL in the EDAP is 64kbps . & these TSL are similarly mapped TSLs in TRX. logically we can divide these TSL into 4 Sub TSL having the speed upto 16kbps.

    Hi ,
    Type of TRx

    E-Trx extanded Trx=used to extend the capacity of the sector
    There will not be BCCH assign for this it will use the Bcch from the n-Trx but there will be E-Rach defied for this E-TRX separtly bcoz ultimatly u r goinng to increase the capacity of the sector by increasing the accessability (RACH)

    N-Trx Normal Trx= Like 1+1+1 or 2+2+2 etc
