    SS7 – Signalling System Number 7 -is the overall sinalling that is used with GSM, etc.. Networks. It looks at MAP, ISUP, etc..

    LAPD – Link Access Procedure on the D channel is from ISDN. It is used to signal requests to the BTS nodes.
