    Do you have an excell file for the sdcch traffic v channel number?

    Depending on the MT , MO , LU percentage of the cell, is there a file that shows the traffic and the channel number of sdcch?

    If I work out the erlang B factor what formula can I use to tell me how many trunk/lines I need. I know about the online calculators but I would like to be able to do this without the calculators…any thoughts??

    Answer to “Limitations”:
    _Some_ limitations to the Erlang B law are the implied assumptions that are made by deciding that calls follow a poisson distribution.
    Some examples that highlight the limitations could be:
    – if your grade of service is affected by some other parameters (e.g. interference), the GoS that you will use in the formula is only the GoS due to channels availability. The real GoS that you will experience should be bigger.
    – people who try to call several time if they cannot seize some TCH. You should now fall under some “extended Erlang B law”.
    – some “event” happens at a precise time (e.g. end of the final match of the football world cup): in the country that wins, a lot of people will try to give calls at the same time.

    Gos is measurable entitiy.
    It is predetermined by the telecom controlling authorities.
    in terms of asr,ccr,etc
    while QoS is not measurable but is from the point of view of subscribers.
    What parameters lead to the calculation of the various GOS ratios

    I think there is miss understanding between QoS & GoS so all previos explaination are depend on GoS & i think it is obvious for all kinds of formula (B & C & EngestB). But the Qos needs more clarification and how it releate with GoS & how it depends on (accessibility, retainability and integrity) of service regarding on both vendor & operator issues.

    Dear: AKHTAR
    p = ((A^N)/N!)/ SUM ((A^X)/X!)
    where:
    p= propability of blocking.
    A= traffic per erlang.
    N= no of channel.
    & the mentioned SUM is the SUM for X values from 0 up to N.
    BUT notice that this formula is B(which blocked call is lost) , so there is different formula for C(which blocked call is delayed in queue system).

    We have been experiencing serious problems with our GSM network. Does anyone know how i can measure the perfomance of each network element as well as each and every interface so as the first step of solving the problem?
