    Hi

can anybody tell me on which factors our antenna height in a microwave links depends on… an how could we calculate a antenna height..?

Plz tell me the answer on write2khatri@yahoo.com

Line of sight is the most important factor which depends upon many factors like surrounding area(open/suburban/urban/roads.

all depends on height of mast if its not high enough does not matter about minimum dish height.

which antenna has a high coverage area (900,1800) &through what relation?

    Hi Yash,

It is not about the antenna, but rather the frequency band of the antenna ! You can find the formula here :
    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Free-space_loss
    relation : Free space loss

you’ll see that 900MHz provides twice more rx power at the same distance (twice the power = +3dB).

Furthermore, 900MHz tends to get less attenuation from obstacles (such as buildings, windows, trees, etc.), so it covers further away.
    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hata_Model_for_Urban_Areas
relation : Okumura Hata, Radio propagation, etc…

    Hi All,

Antenna height of Microwave antenna depends upon the path profile of the link.

you need to calc all hi building, tree, any obstacle ht with ther coordinates under da LOS. and after that used some pathloss input ur frequency and all obstable ht n ther AMSl.

da software will cal da antenna ht.

please consider the AMSL above mean sea level for calculation of hieght of the antenna at each location.that will be accurate formula to calculate the hieght of the microwave site.

The antennas centre line calculation is done on the basis of three things.
1)AMSL of the critical point between the two sites
2)K factor you chose for the link
    3)Fresnel zone clearance

When you add all these three criterias it will give you the optimized height of your microwave antenna.

What should be the distance of the BTS from a Petrol Storage Tank.

    Attenuation:
    Less freq >> Less attenuation
    More freq >> More attenuation

    Break point:
Small freq >> high B point
High freq >> Low B point
    B.point= h1*h2/lampda

Also you relation on fresnel-zone & propagation slope.

if you referring for mwave installation is one for LOS first and designed. like the one said its the frequency, fresnel and what
the climatic factor and types of mwave u will install

    hellooooo 🙂

you will find plenty of information on google :
    for instance :
    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fresnel_zone

“To maximize receiver strength, one needs to minimize the effect of the out of phase signals by removing obstacles from the RF Line of Sight (RF LoS). The strongest signals are on the direct line between transmitter and receiver and always lie in the 1st Fresnel Zone.”
