    Problem description

A GSM system consists of one MSC and one BSC.
Several cells are connected to the BSC.
One cell has a peculiar problem. Mobiles can handoff to this cell and handoff out of this cell. Mobiles can not originate calls in this cell. There is nothing physically wrong with the cell.

What could be the cause of this be?

    Hi Kapil,

Sometimes a cell is only used for Ongoing calls only.
Call setup is barred in these cell.. Check whether the is barred.

    I think its like that.

    Thanks

Hi, check correct definition in the MSC a and BSC.

I saw this problem, when in MSC was wrong definition of CGI.
