Hi All,

I’m working on a Nokia based GSM-1800 N/W and facing problem with high TCH drop. There is no problem with my H/W or Quality. Can someone tell me what should i look so that i can improve the situation

hi Ran,
kindly check for BAD radio parameters(Rx lev,Rx qual,etc.) on cell boundry,interference and congestion(TCH)and also if the problem persists check for timeslot too.

Ran,

There must be a problem in the quality or the signal. There is a call drop if the BTS doesn’t receive a radio signal from the mobile for about 8 seconds (depending on your parameters settings).

Check the Radio Link Time Out value, and if it is set to > 16 SACCH.

Check also the cause of the TCH drop (radio ? handover ? internal failure ? transmission (abis) ? … etc … )

Will wrong LAPD terminal number in perticular DRX cause call drop?
