SS7 link load

    Can any one tell me what parametres do I need to calculate the SS7 link load?

    Hi,
    you should take in consideration number of message sent and received between nodes that you want to calculate C7 load

    Ok Hocine:

    I have the MSU in KBye in both direction ,send and recive for one hour ,can you now tell me how i can do the calculation.
    it is 200Kbye for one signalling link for one hour ,please do the calculation

    Can you please tell how you calculated the total MSUs in one hour from both sides?

    MSUs per second is an average of MSUs transmitted and received per link. RX and TX utilization is calculated based on bytes transmitted and the data rate of the link.

    MSU’s per second= (c7msutx + (c7msutx2 * 65536) + c7msurx + (c7msurx2 * 65536))/(Total Links in Service * 1800)

    once again thanks ,but i have some queries abt this formula.

    How can we know c7msutx and the other parameters mentioned?
    secondly what do you mean by 65536?
    what is 1800 in this?
    what is the difference between RX and RX 2?

    SS7 Link load=

    (Send Octat + Receive Octat)*8/64000/36000

    1)Octat in Byte so multiply to 8.
    2)n7LNK speed is 64Kbps so devide by 64000
    3)measurement period 1 hours so multiply by 3600 to convert in seconds
