    Hi All,

I’m facing a problem with data connections. in some area it is working perfectly and in other area it is not.

    The symptoms are the following:
    – you can access any site normally for the first time.
    – after a while, you can’t access anything while the connection still open.
    – after another while, you will get disconnected from GPRS/EDGE.

Anybody have any idea of where the problem could be?

    Thanks.

Same problem happens to me sometimes, but I feel like it is due to the phone/modem itself. I’m still not sure about it though.

Which hardware are you using ? Are you using a drive-test tool for GPRS/EDGE ? Tems, Agilent, …?
Any Air interface message before disconnection ?

Let me know how it goes…
    Good luck 🙂

I faced with this problem also.
Due to my mind – it is a problem between MT(phone) and SGSN. Sometimes, MT still in connected state, but GSN already finished this session by timeout. After reconnection – all is working again.
Unfortunately, I can not give any usefull advise – try to make traces in Gb-if.

    Pavel,

That’s interesting. So it could be a timer issue ? That oughts to be checked. Thanks for the tip.

    Hi All,

i made a Gb trace and found that the SGSN is initiating the PDP Deactivate Request. Before this, the mobile card was sending errored data.

i upgraded the firmware and it is fine now.
