    Hi,

In ancient times (circa 2000) I used to work with Ericsson BSS. There were three CDU types: CDU-A, CDU-C and CDU-C+. There were RBS 200 and RBS 2000 family. Now I’d be more than happy if somebody updates me with the new BTS types and CDU types.

    Hi Erkan Bey,

    Now-a-days we are using mostly RBS2206. With CDU-G, CDU-F..

Other than that we have WCDMA RBS3202 or RBS3206.

    Hope this helps,

    Gurusuruz..;)

2202 – is a small capacity indoor RBS with maximum configuration 2+2+2. In case of adittional cabinet in can be extended up to 4+4+4.
2206 – large capacity RBS with maximum 4+4+4 configration in standart cabinet.
As I know -2202 is quite old version of RBS2000 series. 2206- is newer one.
Differents of all CDU types is maximum output power per TRU.
Difference between TRU and dTRU, is that dTRU -is duplex TRU. Actually it is 2xTRX in one TRU.

    Adittionaly(fom official E/// info):

CDU – Combining and Distribution Unit
The CDU is the interface between the transceivers and the antenna system.
All signals are filtered before transmission and after reception by means of
bandpass filters. The CDU allows several dTRUs to share antennas. There
are a maximum of three CDUs in one RBS 2106.
The CDU combines transmitted signals from several transceivers, and
distributes the received signal to several transceivers. The CDU is
hardware-prepared to support EDGE. Two different CDU types are used in the
RBS 2106 to support all configurations:
    • CDU-F is a filter combiner intended for high capacity solutions.
    • CDU-G can be configured either for high capacity or for high coverage. It is
a combiner that can be used for synthesizer hopping.
    Number of units: 1 – 3

    hi ghayhab,

if you will be using dTRU Hybrid Combiner you will be using around 18 Rx cables between dTRU and CXU and this will include between CXU and CDU plus 9 TX cables between dTRU and CDU and 4 TX1+TX2 Hybrid Combiner cables for dTRU 2, 3, 4 & 5 (note dTRU 0 is uncombined). configure your IDB using dTRU Hybrid Combiner, then select 3+3+4 for your SCC.

    goblydegook luck!
