BTS connected through Satellite Link

    In our GSM n/w We have two BTS connected to BSC via Satellite Link.These two sites are showing LAP-D congestion and Call Setup is very low. We have no provision of providing an alternate terrestial connection to these sites. Do any parameter has to be changed in BTS or any tweaking required at BSC side.Have any of you observed such a problem ..Help needed!!

    Maybe you can add new chanell to allocate for signaling so your call setup can normal again..

    For sure there is some parameters in BTS and also in BSC site that you should change them.
    but in genereal its depend to your eqipment ,which type of eqipment you are using?

    You can use any equipment for A-bis optimization ( Available on market).
    Cuz it is effective way exately for your situation (few & far away # of BTSs lack of LAPD resources).
    You ought to invistigate this solution with your vendor to ascertain the devise compatability.

    when going through ABIS Satellite, there are radio timers to be increased as well, in order to allow the MS to have a bigger timeframe to communicate with the network.

    Satellite delay is up to 400ms, so that impact the Call setup and GPRS setup.

    how many call can a E1 link (abis)support , cdma network
