    yes it is frequency planning for GSM 900

    n i think it is know as Ad hoc

    hello TUFAIL AHMAD,

    i think it means concept of frequency planing in case of frequency hopping, for example 1×1 means that on every cells in area there is one set of frequencies (MA) on TCH DRXs. Of course,BCCH layer is ‘clear’.

    You don’t have to care about the number of sites/sectors but for the number of TRX’s per sector.
    Then you choose 1×3 or 1×1. 1×2 sounds strange although we use it in the micro layer.

    Generally the best # of freq (hopping set) to encounter any fading & average them over sufficient BW is 15 freq.
    — Cuz 15 freq = 200 kHz x 15 = (3 MHz).
    3 MHz is bigger than the coherence fading of outdoor & in car environment.
    But it’s not sufficient for indoor environment. Its it???.

    1×3 is one MA list for one sector n hence 3 for 3 sectors.

    regarding no. of frequecies

    Hi TUFAIL,
    you are limited to a number of frequencies not to go under by the Frequency Load (FL).
    the FL is computed as follows:
    [(Nb of hopping TRX)/(Nb of frequencies in the hopping list)]*[Traffic/(Nb of voice available TCH)].
    The thresolds are the following:
    FL < 30% for 1*3 reuse pattern FL < 8% for 1*1 reuse pattern. In a previous message, you talk about ad hoc. Do you ahve any info about that, because i'm now facing problems with my network and i heard it could help a lot. Regards
