In 3G there are three types of HO
1. Inter system (3g 2g) (InterRAN)
2. Inter frequency
both are “hard” handovers
3. Normal 9between cells with same freq. – soft handover

Under certain level/quality of WCDMA the phone starts to monitor 2G neighbours. Thus if needed the HO could be performed

how we calculate capacity for 3G, is it per channel & Erlang like GSM or other methods.

#3G capacity(real time traffic) = Erlang capacity(formula B) + soft capacity (QoS degradation average).
#BUT for 3G non real time traffic there is no soft capasity.
