Passive Repeaters

    Do anybody have used Passive repeaters before? and in what conditions can i use them?

    You can use for shop (mobile phone shop), compagny, …

    Everywhere where you need little more network.

    With a passive repeater, you can win 20dbm.

    But be carreful, passive repeater don’t repeat GPRS or UMTS trame.
    (I don’t know passive repeater which do this)

    thanks for your answer,I don’t mean that kind of passive repeaters? do you know about the passive repeaters used in microwave links/networks. I think you know it as reflectors, they reflect the signal towards the destination you want and it doesn’t need any electricity. It is just a plain board fixed on a tower. Any idea in which situations it is used?

    Yes I know that kind of repeaters, it is usually used in where the signal is weak in mobile networks, i don’t know if they are called passive repeaters, but the one I am talking about is used in microwave tranmissions? any idea

    hi somali, the repeaters you mean is like 2 dishes with a wavegide between. this you install on a location between two sites that have LOS problems but you need a link. i did this in austria to go awround a mountain.
