Hi to all, I am an RF Optimizer in ITI working for BSNL in MP.

Can anyone tell me “What is out going SDCCH handover?”

    Hello,

When a MS is performing a SDCCH transfer (call setup, SMS, loc. upd.) and suffering low Rxlev, poor RxQual, or better neighbour, then the BSC will command the MS to perform aHO to a neighbour cell. The MS will resume the SDCCH transfer on a SDCCH subchannel of the target cell.

    That’s a SDCCH HO.

in the first cell: outgoing ho
in the target cell : incoming ho

    Would u kindly tell me…
    1> What is 1×1, 1×3,1×4 frequency planning?
2> The values of RLT & it’s unit?

1/ it’s SFH techniques, a kind of frequency hopping based on a wide number of hopping channels.

2/ Radio Link Time out, def value is 18 SACCH (= 0.48s). It’s the time before a drop is detected because no SACCH can be decoded in either direction. (18 SACCH, that’s about 9 seconds)

do we require SDCCH also on case of handover attempt?? or we check only for tch availability

    Hi rachit,
as I know, in case of handover attempt there is no need for sdcch, BSC checks if any TCH available on target cell; if yes, HO proceeds, if no, the call will continue on the source cell (ROC – Reversed to Old Channel).
    Regards,
    Rex
