    Erlang C is a model where blocked calls are queued. This formula is traditionally used in call center environments.

    2,5 Erlangs is the amount of traffic carried/offered to traffic sensitive facilities.

    In order to get usable numbers you still need GoS and delay factor.

    Here are a couple of links that will give you some background to Erlang. I thought I had a copy of the formula but I can’t seem to put my hands on it right now. If I do I will post it.

    Or you can use the poisson function of Excel to find blocking:
    =(POISSON(,,FALSE))/(POISSON(,,TRUE))

    where = # of servers
    = BHT load in erlangs

    I have seen several addins for Excel that utilize the Erlang B model. I have downloaded and tried two different variations of the addin, and neither one seem to provide me with the answer I was looking for. Does anyone have a source for a reliable and accuarate Erlang B add in?

    I need it to help calculate bandwidth when traffic and blcking are known, as well as to estimate Minutes of usage per day…
