hi waleed, the problem about the rbs 2206 is that when power restores the radio becomes on but we have to use BSC commands to bring it into service.with other sites when power restores, they automatically restore service.2nd February 2007 at 19:04 #41250Ivan BoydGuest
I need to know how to make 8/8/8 configuration in rbs 2206.
How to configure the IDB?
Is there any tips or tricks?
Should I add any module, cable or hardware?
Thanks12th February 2007 at 15:49 #41251rafaelGuest
who much this equiment cost?13th February 2007 at 07:12 #41252AvinashGuest
The maximum configuration that a 2206 rbs can have is 4+4+4.
if you need to have 8+8+8 configuration you need to have two bts 2206 placed.13th February 2007 at 07:18 #41253AvinashGuest
As I have said in order to have a 8+8+8 configuration you need to have two 2206 bts placed.14th February 2007 at 05:21 #41254serv_boydGuest

Yes, I know that the configuration needs 2 rbs.
I noticed that it needs more than just another rbs. Something about ESB cable.
Is there someone that can help me with this?
Thank you for the reply2nd March 2007 at 00:46 #41255kenGuest
yeah you have to have an ESB cable for the 2nd RBS to get its synchronization from the 1st RBS.. you need to calculate heaps of delays.. feeder delays and ESB cable delays depending on the lenghts and types. then define it on your OMT to modify the IDB. and display the trasmitter chain delay. make sure the TF compensation is below 5000 ns4th March 2007 at 06:13 #41256pushpraj pachoriGuest

I must understand the process in which the Ericsson BSS sets up the Abis link. I understand it sends some training sequence and maps the timeslots:
1. what are the details of the process?
2. When will the BSS decide a timeslot can’t be used?
3. Is there any way to monitor this process?
When the Abis link is operational, what would cause it to fail except for physical problems on the E1?
Is there a way to get delay statistics for the Abis link?
Is there any parameter that will add to the overall delay?14th March 2007 at 11:09 #41259Susanta Kumar DasGuest

Hi Ivan Boyd,
you can achieve the 8/8/8 config more simply with three 2206 cabinet CDU-f to achieve minimal loss and better gain ;
a cabinet will take care of each sector with 8trxs., the IDB will be configured for 8+4 and ties 8,9,10&11 will be deactivated for future upgrade to 12/12/12. Three E1 wil be needed6th June 2007 at 06:18 #41263usmanGuest
