When I do the Erlang B calculation, e.g GOS=1%. If I put the Erlang is around 7000, I found that the number of circuit require is less that Erlang. Can anyone help to explain? Thanks in advance.

7000 erlangs is the offered traffic, not the carried traffic.
This being extremely large compared to the GOS, the devices required will be less than 7000.
    The actual carried traffic will be approximately 7000 x (1 – GOS). where GOS = 0.01 (1%)

    Thanks Phaedrus,

So, should I keep the carried traffic not less than the erlang traffic?

Say, I should keep the channel as 7000?

Since the value is as huge as 7000, a small difference in no. of channels doesn’t matter.

If you keep 7000 channels, you’ll be able to carry upto 7000 erlangs of traffic with a blocking probability of less than 1%.

What you could alternatively do is redesign with a GoS around 0.8%. This will give a more meaningfull result.
