Im looking for supplier of IWF (inteworking unit for fax/data streem transfromation between ISDN/PSTN and GSM A,Air format) unit for MSC. Coud you help me – which company can deliver IWF as seprate block/card, I need to integrate it to our MSC, that we are developing. There is possibility of big cooperation – we have agreed delivery of many MSCs to our customer… Thanks for reply.

What kind of MSC you sell??…Usually the IWF was integrated and built in MSC, and it needs to mention the capacity while the network design stage.
But interms of your case, is very useful information to have in here.

It is now for second generation MSC which is completely under developement – I mean HW/SW and now we need IWF block because we do not want to develope own one. We wnat to integrate some to our MSC platform.

During the earlier phase of connection a Mobile Network to the Internet HSCSD and IWF was used. IWF takes the GSM / GPRS signalling and maps this to the well known Internet protocols. Better to procure IWF equipment from your existing MSC/VLR vendor.
