    Hi,
I am running a study on VoIP, and I am trying to collect information on QoS for layer 2. When deploying VoIP in an enterprise or a campus, it seems to me that the layer 2 QoS is crucial for the quality of the calls. If you are running heavy engineering applications on a network, it will affect jitter, and delay, and so it will affect MOS a lot.
The QoS for L2 is described in IEEE 802.1p, and I know that Cisco has the Catalyst 3550 switch were the feature is available. I tried to look in other vendors, like Nortel, Lucent, etc but I couldn’t find anything interesting.
I am wondering how popular it is for VoIP implementation, and VoIP deployment, to run a QoS analysis on layer2.

    Thank you

We have VoIP QoS Layer2 implemented in our company (we use tagged packets with qos priority 7. It is configured on our HP2626 switches and all VoIP traffic goes through usual LAN environment . It seems to work well.
