    Hi,

I’m trying to build a model for a satellite telephony network. I’m looking for data about the duration of the set-up process (from the “off-hook” until the remote user answered). I need it for: a. Calls that succeeded. b. Blocked calls (busy signal).

Preferably I will like to get the division of the time to sections (time in the switch, Ringing at the remote, etc.) Any estimation based on real life experience will be most welcome.

    Thanks.

Call set up will be based upon switch processor utilization, type of protocol being used, distance to remote end…etc…

    Need more info to compute.

Use Etherpeek. You can calculate the duration as per your requirement.

Etherpeek? For voice? Judging by the name, it sounds like a data product.
