Announcement Playing :which switch ???

    Suppose an Airtel Delhi Subscriber dials a Hutch Mumbai subscriber and the Hutch subscriber is busy then will the Busy Announcement will be played by Airtel MSC (originating MSC) or Hutch MSC. Alos would like to get clarity as to whether if Announcemnet is played by Hutch Mumbai then does a Traffic channel get occuiped ???

    HUTCH MSC

    Yes TRAFFIC CHANNEL Gets Occupied till ANNS Ends/Caller Disconnects.

    Why the call goes to HUTCH MSC for BUSY Subscriber..?

    Becoz the MSC May try for CW Service.

    Dear Mr S Vijay,

    If the Traffic Channel gets occupied then does any kind of CDR gets generated for this seizure ans as it is a STD call. You are right that the Hutch MSC would try to give a CW beep to the called subscriber but then for whatever small duration the CW beep is given Traffic Channel remains occupied and then CDR shoudl get generated . True or False

    Alos one more Query. In the same calling scneraio as in my original message if teh called Hutch Mumbai subscriber is Switched Off then in that case will the “switched off ” announcement come form Hutch Mumbia or Airtel Dekhi MSC only. alos pl see my message prior to this one

    Actually in this case…the ISUP Call goes from Delhi to MUMBAI after HLR-MUMBAI Informs that the MS is SWITCHED OFF…then GMSC-MBI routes the call to announcement.

    In this case the ISUP Message flow will be like

    1.IAM DEL –> MUM
    2.ACM MUM –> DEL
    3.ANNOUNCEMENT
    4.REL MUM –> DEL

    CDR is Generated only when ANM Message is received from Remote end.During situations where you get announcements you wont receive ANM from remote end.

    Doesnt matter whatever situation…CW Beeping / Switch Off ANNOUNCEMENT.

    If you receive ANM You Generate CDR.If no dont.

    This is what Normal Procedure evrywhere…But possible to generate CDRs for any kind of situation during calls.This is done for O&M Purpose.

    The time in which CKT is occupied called Holding Time.Between IAM to RLC.

    ANSWER Time ANM-REL.Holding Time alwys higher than ANSWER Time.

    For Unanswered calls you can have min2/3 Mins of Holding Time.So your CKT is wasted during this time.
