    Hi,

Anyone would like to share the experience in Baseband Hopping and Synthesizer Hopping.

In terms of netowrk quality such as dropped call rate, which one is better.

In terms of frequency planning, it looks synthesizer hopping and frequency planner has better life.

    Any opinion?

    Dear Mike,
As far as frequency planning is concerned SFH ( Synthesizer Freq Hopp ) is certainly easier. It can give you good quality (call drop ),provided you keep your loading factor ( i.e, No. of Non BCCH TRX in a cell / No. of ARFCNs in the MA List )less than .5 and use multiple MA lists.
Secondly in SFH it is absolutely imperative that you keep coverage overshooting to minimum.

However for BBH (Base Band Hopping ) frequency planning is as difficult as conventional planning. From my experience I can say BBH is good as long as you have you moderate load on your network and good statis frequency plan.
