in band signalling means that the signalling is transmitted along with the data : it doesn’t require a separate channel.
out of band signalling : TCH & SACCH. TCH carries voice, SACCH carries signalling. 2 different (logical) channels.
in band signalling : speech frames and TFO. The TFO signalling is sent in the headers of the speech frames.
