Dear Asxam,

Having handled both equipment, I am sharing you my honest observation with regards to the two so far.

Huawei softwitch e.g. SoftX3000 is an easy start up and inexpensive equipment. Having both GUI and CLI input options, it proves to be more user-friendly. However, during the course of operation it tends to be unreliable most of the time.

NSN or Nokia Siemens Network on the hand, e.g. HiQ 8000 is a pricey equipment yet dependable. If you are comfortable with CLI, then you will be fine. And given that it is from NSN, uptime is expected to meet 99.999% “five nines” reliability.

If cost is not an object for your consideration, it is best to go with NSN. After all, dependability comes with a high price tag.

Regards,

Renan
